Where is Gyles Quay Caravan Park?

In the Cooley Peninsula. We are based approximately 10 minutes from Carlingford and 20 minutes from Dundalk. 60 minutes’ drive will take you to Belfast or Dublin Travel along the M1 Motorway towards Dundalk, come of the motorway at the turn for the R173 Dundalk North/Carlingford turn. Follow the signs for Carlingford for approx. 7 miles/11km, take the right turn for Gyles Quay. The caravan park is situated on the right towards the end of this road.

What is in a Pod?

Equipped with wall lights, double socket, electric oil heaters (if needed), a mini fridge, kettle and 2 double airbeds.

What should I bring with me?

Everything you would normally bring with you when going camping, apart from your tent. Cooking utensils, sleeping bags, bed linen, pillows etc.

What is there to do in Gyles Quay and the surrounding area?

Gyles Quay Caravan Park has a fully equipped playground on site, games room which included a pool table, table tennis and more. Fergusons Bar is located on site which provides live entertainment each weekend, which is sure to provide a great nights entertainment for all. Pizzeria (Take-Away) on site. Mini Market Shop on site for all your grocery needs. A log cabin which has been fitted with TV’s, Wi-Fi, Netflix and comfy sofas for your comfort. Within easy walking distance and access from the site you can take in the scenic beauty of Gyles Quay Beach and Dundalk Bay.

The site is situated within the Cooley Peninsula, steeped in History and scenic beauty (hill walks, hikes and nature trails). The historic village of Carlingford is located just a 10 minute drive from Gyles Quay, which is home to lots a high quality cafes, restaurants and pubs Dundalk Stadium is a short 20 minute drive from Gyles Quay Caravan Park for a fun night out. Carlingford Adventure Centre is based in Carlingford for any Sporting enthusiasts.

Is the site secure?

Gyles Quay Caravan Park is a fully secured and gated facility with CCTV cameras in operation plus it is a managed facility. Each Pod has a lockable front door, however you will be advised not not bring any valuables with you as each individual is responsible for their own belongings.

Check in time is 2pm

What time must I check out by?

Check out time is 12 noon

Can I smoke in the Pods?

Strictly no smoking in the Glamping Pods. If smoking occurs in the pods guests will be fined with a soilage and cleaning charge on top of their bill. Guests may smoke on their decking area and outside we will have installed cigarette butt bins.

Are pets permitted in the pods?

No pets are allowed in the pods

Where can we eat?

Fergusons Bar is located on site and served food every Sunday 1-5 pm during April – August. Apache Pizza takeaway is also located on site. Each pod has a personal picnic table located outside the Pod and a kitchen with sinks are provided close by.

Toilets and showering facilities are close by the pods. Tokens available from the shop €2 per token.

Do you take a deposit?

Credit card details are taken as security. Full payment is required in cash on arrival and a €50 deposit per pod may also be required.

What is your breakages policy?

Careful inspection of each accommodation is carried out after each guest checks out. Guests will be charged for cost of damages, breakages, repairing and cleaning costs to any soiled areas.
